J.J. Soria has left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide for his extensive work as an actor. Soria’s work can be seen in award-winning productions such as The Purge, Crank: High Voltage, Fast & Furious, Dexter, The Shield, CSI Miami, Sons of Anarchy, and Army Wives, just to name a few.

Currently, he is starring in a lead role as Erik Morales on Netflix’s Original, Gentefied. A 2020 article in Oprah Magazine referred to Soria’s character as a “tough homie with a heart of gold.” In real life, Soria also leads with his heart. Before acting, he worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District, serving kids with special needs. A population that is still very dear to him.

Soria has played many roles; his most significant has been both hero and antagonist in his own life. Born in the tough streets of Boyle Heights, near the heart of East LA. His personal story is filled with extreme highs and lows, which labeled him “At-Risk.” At 7, Soria suffered a severe head injury that affected his memory and learning ability. He used his trauma of abuse and setback to grow stronger. As he got older, he looked inward to find the strength to overcome all of life’s challenges.

Soria has reflected deeply on his life, connecting the dots to understand who he is. One of his life mantras is, “I see you, life.” Soria says, “Life constantly gives us signs, but it is up to us to pay attention and respond accordingly.” He eventually found himself on the steps of College of the Canyons, where he discovered his love for acting and decided this was what he would do.

Passionate about helping others, Soria has decided to use his powerful platform to inspire. Speaking to audiences worldwide, sharing his message of being grateful, a “no limits” mindset, and his own J-Walk Theory. A brand he developed to help young people understand their values and create their own paths.
