Kevon Lee has lived a life that many could never comprehend. At the tender age of 5, he was placed in the foster care system after being shot during a drug-related incident. The trauma he suffered from the incident and separation from his family led Kevon down a path of depression, loneliness, and a future that seemed bleak.
He turned to food to feed the emptiness he felt deep inside. Kevon eventually developed an eating disorder and became extremely obese. As a teenager, Kevon’s depression was heightened due to his peers’ jokes about his weight. While he could laugh it off externally, internally, he struggled with finding his self-worth.
Kevon’s life began to change when he found hope in his mentors, faith, and grandmother, who he feels is his angel on earth. Through hard work and perseverance, he was able to turn everything around. He made his struggles his mission. Kevon is a national activist for anti-bullying, education, and at-risk youth. His highly sought-after keynote, “Go Make a Difference (#GoMAD),” has been shared with thousands of students, parents, and educators.
Kevon lectures across the nation to inspire and empower others to not give up, understand the power of their voice, and “Go Make a Difference.” Kevon holds a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, San Bernardino, and is currently a student at California Baptist University. He is working towards his master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership and Student Development.
His dream is to attain his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and inspire the next generation to be better, dream bigger, and GoMAD.
