Summer Rose Castillo

Expertise:

Joyful, compassionate, determined, and adventurous are just a few words to describe Summer Rose Castillo. She was born and raised in the birthplace of Hip Hop-The Bronx. From the exciting age of five, Summer began to take an interest in being in front of a camera. With her parents’ guidance and direction, they created a YouTube channel for Summer and filmed her very first video. She confidently spoke and gave three tips on how to be an awesome kid all at the tender age of five.

Summer loves a good challenge and believes anything is possible. During the pandemic, she was given the opportunity to audition for the leading voiceover for PBS’s new animation Alma’s way, in which Summer plays Alma.  With no prior experience as a voice actor she booked such an amazing role. Summer starred in her first on camera film as Elaine, in the indie short Brownsville Bred, directed by Elaine Del Valle. It debuted at the 2022 SXSW film festival and won an award for Best Audience. Summer recently won an award for best voice over actor for Alma’s Way from the Imagen Foundation.

Health and a positive mindset are very important to Summer. She enjoys going hiking, bike riding, mountain climbing, Mixed Martial Arts, and traveling. Summer is passionate about inspiring children to understand the power of their voice.  Spending time with her family is one of her greatest joys. Two of Summer’s biggest dreams are giving a TEDx talk and visiting Paris one day.
